Naturgy multiplied by nine the power in photovoltaic self-consumption during 2022 within the framework of its 'Naturgy Solar' project, which received more than 75,000 information queries and multiplied contracting by five compared to the previous year, as reported by the company.
The objective of the firm is to reach 650 megawatts (MW) in self-consumption by 2025, and to do so, it offers its clients personalized solutions to generate their own electricity and save up to 70% on their electricity bills (up to 40% only with the installation of photovoltaic panels).
The 'Naturgy Solar' initiative is aimed at private clients, communities of owners, SMEs and companies, and provides a personalized design for each installation with a free and no-obligation face-to-face visit, in addition to the management of permits and subsidies.
The service also includes a free first year of Servisolar, the maintenance service for solar panels, and the company offers financing of up to 100% of the amount at 0% interest over 3 years.
Naturgy registered strong growth in self-consumption facilities in 2022, with the single-family home as the main applicant for this device, although with a notable increase among the associations of owners and companies.
Madrid and Catalonia were the regions in which Naturgy registered the highest volume of contracts, although the group is present throughout the national territory and collaborates with 120 specialized installation companies.
The added value of the company is found in the comprehensive management it carries out of the self-consumption project, since Naturgy is in charge of the design of the installation, the purchase of equipment, legalization, start-up, management of subsidies and financing. In addition, it offers a rate with surplus compensation at 0.11 euros per kilowatt hour (kWh).
The drive for self-consumption is part of Naturgy's commitment to the energy transition, to which it also contributes with its strategy to develop a portfolio of renewables at an international level.
On the other hand, the company has implemented various measures to mitigate the upward trend in energy prices, including the 'Compromiso Luz' initiative, which sets the price of this energy for three years, and the 'Compromiso Gas Industrial', with which it offers gas at a stable price. Over 60% of Naturgy's customer base has benefited from these long-term pricing initiatives.
