Nearly 3,000 trains will circulate this weekend in the country through the San José bridge

MADRID, 17 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Nearly 3,000 trains from the three railway companies that operate in Spain --Renfe, Iryo and Ouigo-- will circulate throughout the country's railway network during this festive weekend of March 19.

According to data from Adif, only this Friday of 'operation departure' will circulate 1,156 trains, of which 232 will leave or arrive at the Puerta de Atocha-Almudena Grandes station in Madrid, the only community in which next Monday will be a holiday.

This station will accommodate a total of 582 throughout the weekend, to which are added another 182 trains that are scheduled to depart or arrive this Friday at Chamartín-Clara Campoamor and a total of 454 until Sunday.

Rail transport faces this first festive bridge of the year after achieving an unprecedented milestone in Europe, that there are three companies operating at the same time, being able to choose between four brands, including Renfe's Avlo.

Likewise, this bridge makes it possible to travel by train between Valencia and several cities in the northern half of the country, such as Burgos or Valladolid, directly, without changing trains or stations in Madrid, thanks to the new high-speed tunnel that crosses the 'heart' From the capital.

Long-distance rail traffic closed 2022 with an increase of 32.7% and started 2023 with 31.3% growth.
