The latter completed his rookie contract in the National League this year and was eligible for partial autonomy. During the most recent season, the 23-year-old hockey player had five goals and 18 assists for 23 points in 61 games, while posting a differential of 15.

Winner of the Calder Cup with the Toronto Marlies in 2018, the Swede also played two playoff games in the first round series against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Liljegren was a first-round pick, 17th overall, in the 2017 Entry Draft.

Meanwhile, forward Maxim Mamin will no longer wear a Florida Panther uniform as he signed a three-year contract with CSKA Moscow of the Continental Hockey League on Monday.

This was reported by Russian media TASS. The 27-year-old skater was eligible for full free agency in the National League after completing a one-year, $975,000 pact.

Mamin struggled to make his way to the Panthers, who picked him in the sixth round of the 2016 draft. In fact, after 33 games over two years at Sunrise, he headed back to his hometown in 2018- 2019 to then return to Florida in anticipation of the last campaign. However, he played only 40 games on the Bettman circuit, amassing 14 points, and appeared in seven games for the Springfield Thunderbirds of the AHL.

The forward has extensive experience in the KHL, especially since he saw action with CSKA in the final of the 2021 Gagarin Cup. His first games in this league date back to the 2014-2015 season .
