“Next week, we sign the agreements,” welcomed Mr. Blaszczak on his Twitter account.

In a statement, quoted by the wPolityce site, Mr. Blaszczak specifies that the acquisition contract includes the delivery of 48 FA-50 fighter planes, and a first batch of 180 K2 tanks, known as "Black Panther" and a indefinite number of howitzers.

The first howitzers and tanks will be delivered to Poland by the end of the year, and the planes next year, according to statements by the minister, who did not provide any other details of the contract to be signed.

"We are aware of Poland's challenges raised by the war in Ukraine and Putin's aggressive policy (...).

Our goal is to frighten the aggressor and strengthen the Polish army as much as possible,” Blaszczak told reporters.

"We support Ukraine, because it is fighting for us, but we must also strengthen our own defense capabilities," he added in his interview.

Poland, a NATO country and neighbor of Ukraine, recently announced the acquisition, among other things, of 32 AW149 general-purpose military helicopters manufactured by the Italian group Leonardo, 366 American Abrams tanks or surface missile systems- air CAMM iLauncher produced by MBDA consortium.
