After losing the first set at the hands of the Briton (6-2), the Serb was dominant by winning the next three by 6-3, 6-2 and 6-4.

At the same time, he won a 27th victory in a row on the lawns of All England Lawn Tennis

"It's always the goal to get to the championship game, especially at Grand Slam tournaments," Djokovic said. It was a good game. I didn't get off to a good start like it often does for me at Wimbledon. »

"I didn't have good feelings and I made several mistakes. I couldn't find my rhythm. We were nervous, but he [Norrie] handled his emotions better. He was the best player in the first and a half innings. »

The match tipped over as the score was 4-3 in favor of Djokovic. Norrie suffered a break in service. Afterwards, everything collapsed like a house of cards.

“The rhythm completely changed from that moment on,” explained the Serb. I started feeling better and serving better. I started getting him moving on the pitch and making him work. »

Facing full player

In the final, he will cross swords with Kyrgios who will take part in his first final in a Grand Slam tournament.

The reigning Wimbledon champion respects his opponent, especially since Kyrgios is 2-0 against him.

"His serve is so smooth and fast," Djokovic said. He can hit from all angles. He is able to use the service-volleyball. He is able to put himself in the right position to be aggressive or stay on the baseline. It's hard to read his serve. I guess it will be even more difficult on grass. He is able to put pressure on you when you are serving. »

"He's a complete player and it's a game that will be tight," added "Djoko".

Tough day for the Briton

After a promising start, Norrie was unable to keep up the pace in the last three rounds. Djokovic gave him nothing.

Norrie had just four break points in the entire game. It is very little when a player wants to attempt a comeback.

“It was a very difficult match, underlined the Briton. I started the game well. He was a little nervous, from what I saw. However, he found his bearings and he was very solid in the last three rounds. He made my life difficult. »

Norrie believes the game tipped in the second set.

“I lacked execution and focus at important times,” he explained. Meanwhile, he [Djokovic] has taken his game up a notch. »

“He was outstanding on serve,” continued Norrie. It was very difficult for me in return. I missed returns when I had opportunities. That was the difference. He closed the books afterwards. »
