On the way to the hospital, she gives birth thanks to the help of police and paramedics

It was around 5:50 p.m. on May 6 that Brigitte Perrault and her spouse, Nicolas Théberge, had to stop on the road on their way to the hospital.

The mom-to-be's contractions were too strong, and she felt the need to push.

Realizing they didn't have time to get to the hospital, the soon-to-be dad dialed 911 for assistance.

The couple, on Highway 15, managed to get to a restaurant parking lot, where police officers from Mirabel and the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) as well as paramedics joined them.

The woman was then placed in the ambulance, where she gave birth to a boy.

“Both mother and toddler are in perfect health. They were then transported by ambulance to the Saint-Jérôme Regional Hospital,” the SQ said in a statement released Friday.

The SQ wanted to highlight the teamwork of the various partners who made this intervention a success.
