Overnight stays in non-hotel tourist accommodation increased by 15.7% in March

Overnight stays in non-hotel tourist accommodation in Spain (apartments, campsites, rural tourism accommodation and hostels) exceeded 6.9 million last March, which represents a growth of 15.7% in the interannual rate, according to data from the Institute National Statistics (INE).

Overnight stays by residents increased by 20.4% and those by non-residents by 13.4%.

The average stay stood at 4.3 overnight stays per traveler, according to data from the statistical institute.

With all this, during the first three months of 2023, overnight stays increased by 17.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.

The INE has also announced the prices of this type of accommodation, which were increased in all modalities. Thus, the Tourist Apartment Price Index (IPAP) rose 9.6% in March compared to the same month in 2022, the Campsite Price Index (IPAC) 5%, and the Rural Tourism Price Index (IPTR) 4.4%.
