A French couple intends to file a complaint against medical establishments which were slow to diagnose a tumor in their daughter.

Shiloh, 13, died in December 2021 from breast angiosarcoma, an extremely rare tumor.

"When I said it was cancer, I was told: 'Madam, breast cancer at 12 years old, it doesn't exist'", told the teenager's mother, Diane, to the daily Le Parisien.

It was in March 2021 that the first symptoms appeared when Shiloh complained of pain in his left breast.

According to her mother, "little pimples and a kind of orange peel", were visible.

The woman therefore takes the young girl to a women's imaging center where a first doctor diagnoses mastitis, an inflammation of the breasts.

A month later, the family went to the emergency room of a hospital in the Paris region where the medical staff did not give him a pat-down because of his age.

A new diagnosis of mastitis is made at this time. Antibiotics are prescribed and the family is advised to see a dermatologist.

"She was very tired, she had trouble standing up," says the mother.

Shiloh returned to another hospital when her mother had just discovered stains on her sheets, a sign that the breast was beginning to ooze.

No diagnosis is made this time and some caregivers even suspect abuse.

The family finally gets an appointment for a biopsy which confirms the worst: a grade II breast angiosarcoma.

Shiloh, who had just turned 13, will die on December 8, 2021, four months after starting chemotherapy.

Diane is certain that her daughter has paid the price for medical wanderings and intends to sue the various health establishments.

“Caught in time, there was the possibility of her getting away with it. Even if it takes ten years, I will go all the way,” she said.

“We should never have sent Shiloh home in her condition. The doctors did not know what she had, they should have kept her, ”said the parents’ lawyer, Me Sabine Doucinaud, who intends to plead the refusal of care.
