After a few days of traveling hundreds of kilometers of isolated roads or tracks in the middle of the desert, I finally arrive in a city that has made me dream for weeks. The city of cats, Essaouira, seduces me at first contact. The Toyota Landcruiser brand vehicle, a true off-road legend, will remain parked for two days. I stroll through the medina and drop off my backpack at my riad – an urban residence with magnificent interior courtyards.

My first photo subject, probably what most distinguishes this city from Morocco, is its port formerly known as Port de Timbuktu. A highly visual and equally fragrant experience awaits me. The eye is solicited by a large number of blue boats. From an olfactory point of view, the nostrils are put to the test because of the many fish cleaned on the stone walls. Moreover, the paint residues used to paint the shutters of this city, mainly covered with white lime, provide an atmosphere in shades of blue and white. For two days, the fishermen of Essaouira have not gone out to sea. It is too rough. Three-meter waves crash against the ramparts of the medina. For me, a golden opportunity presents itself. The salty spray covering the port offers a unique atmosphere!
