Four people were injured, including one seriously, during a violent face-to-face in Laval on Monday evening.

The police were alerted shortly after 10:30 p.m. to an accident on Route 335, near Avenue des Perron.

A vehicle traveling northbound would have deviated from its lane to overtake before coming into contact with another compact Toyota type vehicle which was in the opposite direction.

The passenger in the Toyota vehicle suffered serious injuries and there are fears for her life, said a spokeswoman for the Service de police de Laval (SPL).

Three other people, the two drivers and a passenger of the other vehicle, were also injured and transported to hospital, but there is no danger to their lives.

Laval police did not specify the age or sex of those injured.

Investigators were dispatched to the scene to try to analyze the scene and determine the exact causes and circumstances of this collision.

Teams from the Ministry of Transport blocked traffic on the R-335 while the investigation was carried out.
