The Italian group Piaggio has signed a preliminary agreement with the Chinese company Foton Motor Group for the joint development of a range of four-wheel electric commercial vehicles, both companies reported in a statement.

This preliminary collaboration agreement between the two companies was signed in Mantua (Italy) by the CEO of Piaggio, Roberto Colaninno, and by the Deputy General Manager of Foton, Wang Shuhai.

Through this contract, the two companies reinforce the collaboration that began in 2017 with the joint development of innovative solutions for the light commercial vehicle market.

This cooperation will mean that a group of workers from the two companies will work on the development and approval for the production and commercialization of new four-wheel electric commercial vehicles. The forecast is that these previous works will be completed in the spring of next year.
