The nautical search to find a young man who fell on Friday in the Ouareau River, near the Cascades de Rawdon, resumed on Saturday morning.

Around 4:45 p.m. on Friday, a call was made to the emergency services concerning a man who fell into the water near the Parc des Cascades, in Rawdon.

The 20-year-old man reportedly fell into the water after "losing his footing on a rock" and was swept away by the current, said the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

Quickly, patrollers and firefighters were dispatched to the places where searches were undertaken.

“Nautical craft have also been launched,” confirmed the SQ.

After suspending the search around 9:15 p.m. on Friday, divers arrived at the scene on Saturday morning to search the waters.
