Vegas Golden Knights prospect Brabenec is the recipient of the Michel Bergeron Trophy, given to the best first-year offensive player. During the campaign, he amassed 17 goals and 47 assists for 64 points in 58 games.

For his part, the son of former Montreal Canadiens fullback Jaroslav Spacek collected 50 points, including 12 goals, in 57 outings, while maintaining a differential of 21. His performances earned him the Raymond-Lagacé trophy, awarded Defensive Rookie of the Year.

David Spacek can however take his revenge in the playoffs, because he faces Brabenec and the Islanders in the semi-finals of the Courteau circuit. Charlottetown led the best-of-seven series 2-1 going into Monday night's game.
