MADRID, 30 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Renfe has issued 2.26 million free passes for Cercanías, Rodalies and Media Distancia, and Avant vouchers discounted at 50 percent, to travel between January 1 and April 30, 2023, according to Renfe sources in Europe. Press.

Of the total passes used in the first four months of this year, more than 1.6 million correspond to Cercanías and Rodalies tickets, and some 537,000 to Medium Distance passes.

In addition, 118,000 50% subsidized Avant bonds were acquired. These passes can only be used until April 30. To travel free on the Cercanías, Rodalies and Media Distancia services from May 1 to August 31, it is necessary to purchase a new season ticket, reports Renfe.

To date, just over 250,000 new free passes have been issued (150,000 for Cercanías and 100,000 for Media Distancia) for the second four-month period. Similarly, for Avant rail services, the 50% discount on season tickets is maintained.

This same discount is applied to other high-speed routes that have been declared a Public Service Obligation (OSP), which operate under the same conditions as an Avant Pass.

As on previous occasions, to purchase the subscription, although it is free, it is necessary to deposit a deposit of 10 euros in the case of Cercanías and Rodalies, and 20 euros for each Media Distancia service.

Renfe adds that travelers who have used the free Cercanías, Rodalies or Media Distancia pass in the first four-month period of 2023, the deposit will be returned, provided they have met the conditions thereof.
