Dabrowski triumphed at Roland-Garros with Rohan Bopanna in 2017, then lost in the final the following two years alongside Mate Pavic. She also has an Australian Open title with Pavic in 2018.

Annabelle Xu wins

On the girls' side, 18-year-old Montrealer Annabelle Xu upset third-seeded Andorran Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva in straight sets 6-2, 6-4. She was, however, less successful in doubles; She and Ekaterina Khayrutdinova were beaten 6-2, 4-6, 11-9 by Americans Liv Hovde and Qavia Lopez.

Also from Montreal, Jaden Weekes and his American partner Ozan Colak had the upper hand in the super tiebreaker, defeating Namibian Connor Henry Van Schalkwyk and Sweden's Sebastian Eriksson 6-4, 2-6 and 10-5.

Toronto's Victoria Mboko, 15, defeated Britain's Rana Akua Stroiber in straight sets 6-7(2), 6-2, 6-3 to advance to the round of 16. The 11th seed meets sixth seeded Hovde on Wednesday.

Mia Kupres, 18, finally bowed out in doubles. She was evolving in the company of Stroiber.
