At the same time, Don Granato's squad only became the third visiting team to win at the Boston amphitheater this season. The Vegas Golden Knights and Los Angeles Kings also won in overtime.

Alex Tuch allowed the Sabers to add a rare stain to the almost immaculate record of the Bruins at home (18-0-3) by participating in each of his goals. He ended the debate after 1 min 17 s. in overtime after being spotted by Dylan Cozens, who had taken advantage of a rare turnaround from Patrice Bergeron.

A few moments earlier, at the end of the third period, Cozens had forced extra time by defeating Jeremy Swayman with a rather weak shot.

Unlike Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, author of 37 parades between the posts of the Sabers, Swayman had a checkered start. He gave up four times on 25 shots, also failing against Tage Thompson in the first period.

Each of the Bruins' three-headed monster members hit the mark. David Patrnak threaded the needle early in the game, while Bergeron and Brad Marchand completed the scoring in the third period.

Blackhawks still defeated

At Nationwide Arena, the Columbus Blue Jackets won the Bettman Tour cellar derby over the Chicago Blackhawks 4-1.

Gustav Nyquist led the charge with two shorthanded goals for the Ohio team. Emil Bemstrom and Kirill Marchenko also sounded the cannon, while Johnny Gaudreau had two assists.

Andreas Athanasiou opened the scoring for the “Hawks”, who have won just one of their last 12 games.
