A 22-year-old man was stabbed to death in front of a business in the Aylmer sector, in Gatineau, on the night of Friday to Saturday. This is the second homicide recorded by the city this year.

Shortly before 2 a.m., emergency services received a call concerning a man seriously injured in the upper body at 51, rue Court, in the Aylmer sector, in Gatineau.

The victim was lying outside the business when authorities arrived on the scene.

The police began resuscitation maneuvers, continued by paramedics and medical staff from the hospital center. The young man, despite everything, succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

At the request of the family, the identity of the victim cannot be confirmed at this time.

Several witnesses were, however, questioned by the Service de police de la Ville de Gatineau (SPVG) on Saturday.

A security perimeter was also erected around the crime scene to allow investigators to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the homicide.
