Viewers eager to discover the new series “Chouchou” were partly satisfied on Monday when the first photos from the set, featuring Evelyne Brochu, Sophie Cadieux, Lévi Doré and Steve Laplante, were unveiled.

“Chouchou” is the next work of dramatic fiction written by the prolific Simon Boulerice.

Chanelle Chouinard (Evelyne Brochu), a 37-year-old French teacher develops feelings for Sandrick (Lévi Doré), a young man 20 years her junior who is full of “confidence and magnetism, but vulnerable”. The series is said to "paint a nuanced portrait of two characters who lose their bearings and run straight into a wall, hidden behind the illusion of a grand love story."

In addition to the four main actors, "Chouchou" will bring together on screen Patrick Emmanuel Abellard, Joey Bélanger, Lise Castonguay, Josée Deschênes, Kathleen Fortin, Karine Gonthier-Hyndman, Nora Guerch, Ariel Ifergan, Ambre Jabrane, Evelyne Laferrière, Agathe Ledoux, Joëlle Paré-Beaulieu, Pascale Renaud-Hébert, Luc Senay and Monique Spaziani.

Filming is in full swing until the end of July on the north shore of Montreal.

The series produced by Passer GO, in collaboration with Bell Media, will have eight 60-minute episodes, which are co-directed by Marie-Claude Blouin and Félix Tétreault. “Chouchou” will be broadcast next fall on Noovo.
