Sepla denounces the immobility of Air Europa in the labor dispute

MADRID, 1 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Spanish Union of Airline Pilots (Sepla) has denounced this Saturday that the immobility of Air Europa has frustrated the intermediation proposed by the Ministry of Labor to unblock the labor conflict after the meetings that the three parties have held this week.

Through a press release, the union has indicated that the company's management demanded, as a condition to maintain the negotiation, that the pilots could not exercise the "legitimate right" to strike until September 30 and accelerate the negotiation of the V collective agreement "in exchange for not recognizing any of the demands of the collective".

Sepla has expressed that it is "disheartening" to observe that the business management "continues refusing to find a solution that ends the labor conflict generated by the company's repeated blockades of the legitimate labor and salary proposals raised by the workers, after suffering during the last eleven years a loss of purchasing power".

For their part, the workers' representatives have reiterated their commitment to reach an agreement and will continue to attend the negotiation forums.

Air Europa has canceled nine flights this Saturday due to the pilots' strike that ends tomorrow and which, for the moment, has caused the cancellation of a total of 145 in the last two weeks.
