Sherbrooke: a 16-year-old motorcyclist between life and death after a collision

A 16-year-old boy is in critical condition in hospital after hitting a vehicle with his moped overnight from Thursday to Friday in Sherbrooke.

The accident occurred around midnight at the intersection of Victoria Street and Portland Boulevard, said the Sherbrooke Police Service (SPS).

The scooter which would not have marked its obligatory stop on Victoria Street struck a car traveling on Portland Boulevard eastbound.

The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries and there are fears for his life.

Alcohol could be the cause of this serious collision, Sherbrooke police said, adding that the driver of the vehicle and his passenger suffered minor injuries.

An investigator and a forensic identification technician from the SPS were dispatched to the scene to analyze the scene protected by a security perimeter before meeting with witnesses.
