Showers and risk of thunderstorms are expected Wednesday for southwestern Quebec, while the weather will be generally sunny elsewhere in the province.

Environment Canada also issued a severe thunderstorm warning overnight for the Pontiac and Abitibi-Témiscamingue sectors.

Showers beginning at night will continue for part of the day with the risk of thunderstorms that can produce strong gusts.

In Montreal, Montérégie and the Laurentians, the weather will be cloudy with a few showers at midday, while the mercury will show 18 degrees on the thermometer.

Intermittent rain is also expected in Estrie and Beauce, while in Quebec City and areas further north, cloudiness is expected with seasonal temperatures.

The weather promises to be milder in the eastern sectors of the province with sunshine almost everywhere and temperatures of 17 degrees, according to forecasts from the federal agency.

Thursday will be much better with cloudy but mild weather in the south and sunshine elsewhere in the province.
