The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has assured that there are different additional aids to those collected by the Strategic Project for the Recovery and Economic Transformation of the Electric and Connected Vehicle (Perte VEC) and that they can be articulated both by the autonomous communities and by resources of the State.

After the celebration of the European Council, Sánchez pointed out that this same Friday, through the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, the funds granted by the Government for the projects presented to the Perte VEC, which reach an amount of 880 million euros, out of a total budget of 2,975 million euros.

The President of the Government highlighted the importance of the automobile industry for the Spanish economy and stressed that in addition to the Perte VEC "there are other aids" that will be given through the autonomous communities and through State resources.

These statements by Sánchez come after this Thursday, from the Volkswagen group, they asked the Executive for speed in presenting the final results on the granting of the Perte VEC aid and indicating that they would wait in the company to know the amount awarded. to make a decision on the Sagunto (Valencia) battery gigafactory project.

The Volkswagen group plans to mobilize, together with more than 60 companies, through the 'Future: Fast Forward' initiative, more than 10,000 million euros in the electrification of Spanish industry and to turn the country into a mobility 'hub' electrical.
