Spanish airports will operate 81,643 flights during these Christmas dates, bordering on pre-pandemic figures

The Aena airport network plans to operate a total of 81,643 flights between this Friday and Tuesday, January 10, a figure very close to the 84,462 operations achieved in 2019, according to data provided to Europa Press by the airport manager.

This Friday will be the day with the highest number of scheduled operations, with a total of 4,922 scheduled flights, followed by Sunday, January 8, when 4,882 operations are expected, and Friday, December 30, when 4,691 movements will be made.

In the pre-pandemic period, the day with the most flights was December 27, 2019, with 5,037 movements, while Tuesday, December 25, was the day with the fewest connections, 2,872.

Regarding the main days of these festivities, on December 24 there will be 4,011 flights, while on December 25, 3,180 will operate. Looking ahead to the end of the year, on December 31, 4,107 operations will be recorded in Spain and on January 1 there will be 4,183 flights.

Finally, on January 5, prior to the Three Kings, 4,484 flights are scheduled and on January 6 there will be 1,050 operations throughout the national territory.

The two airports with the most operations during these days will be Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas and Barcelona-El Prat. The airport in the capital of Spain has a total of 17,617 flights scheduled on these dates, while there will be 13,204 movements at the Barcelona aerodrome.

The flight schedule is subject to changes that may occur in the operations of the different airlines depending on the different situations that arise.
