Spanish listed companies distribute 22.3 billion in dividends until August, 16.8% more

MADRID, 18 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Spanish listed companies distributed 22,278 million euros in dividends in the first eight months of the year, 16.8% more compared to the same period in 2022, according to data from Spanish Stock Exchanges and Markets (BME).

In just eight months of the year, more dividends have already been distributed than in 2020 and 2021, years affected by the exceptional nature of the pandemic. In addition, the listed companies are on track to exceed the figure for all of 2022, when the distribution amounted to 25,973 million euros.

In the month of August alone, the Spanish listed companies distributed a total of 566 million euros, significantly below the distribution of 2,570 million agreed in August 2022.

The decline is especially pronounced if one takes into account the 'rain of dividends' recorded since April, when the vast majority of the year's dividends were distributed.

Specifically, in the fourth month of the year 5,738 million euros were distributed, followed by 4,589 million in May, 1,449 million in June and 7,282 million in July.
