The airline said in the last few hours that “its teams are working to reduce return flight delays and get affected customers home.”
“We expect to repatriate most or all of the customers affected by the flight delays by January 2.”
Already 34 recovery flights have taken place and 43 more are planned in the coming hours.
Still worrying from Montreal
Sunwing passengers encountered by TVA Nouvelles at Montreal-Trudeau airport were trying to reassure themselves before going on vacation.
“My worries? Be sure to come back in time. I work on Monday, that's just what worries me, "said a traveler.
“We booked for a long time. Of course it's sad that we can't take the flight. But for the moment, everything is fine,” put another client into perspective.
In addition, Sunwing invites all affected passengers to submit a claim for compensation or reimbursement on its website.
