SCHENECTADY - A Jewish man in Schenectady had his home vandalized with multiple swastikas some time between Thursday night and Friday morning.

Andrew King, 54, said he noticed the black, spray-painted Nazi symbols on his Chiswell Road home while clearing snow from his driveway Friday afternoon, according to the Daily Gazette in Schenectady.

The swastikas marring King's home were still there on Saturday, but no one answered the door.

Schenectady police are investigating the incident, which comes amid a wave of hateful vandalism across the state and country. Last month, swastikas were scrawled across buildings, signs and a church in Esperance, a small village in Schoharie County. Police later arrested a 13-year-old boy in connection with the graffiti.

For now, King said he will keep the symbols up. "This can show people who thrive on hate, in my opinion, that love trumps hate in the long run," King told the Daily Gazette. "I will consult with the religious community and see how long we should leave them up, Jewish, Christian and Muslim."
