Elena Rybakina was calm and humble in the seconds after winning her first major career title. It reflects his personality.

“I have always been calm after each of my victories, said Rybakina. When I spoke on the microphone, I almost cried, but I held myself back.

"Maybe my emotions will come out when I'm alone in my room. I'm going to cry all the time."

She didn't wait to be alone. When a journalist asked her a question about her parents, she cracked up.

"I haven't spoken to them yet. They must be super proud of me, she explained before stopping her sentence to shed a few tears. You wanted emotions, here are some.”

Rybakina showed character after losing the first set.

"I didn't start the game well. I put all my focus on the game and what I was doing on the pitch.

“We played unbelievably. She is a difficult opponent to face with her drop shots and the rest of her arsenal. When I got into the game, I focused on playing one game at a time.

Not his best tennis

For its part, Ons Jabeur did not have a good day at the office.

"I didn't play my best tennis in the second and third sets," she said. She started to be more aggressive.

“She (Rybakina) took control of the pitch putting a lot of pressure on me. I haven't found a solution for this today. She played very well and she deserved to win.”

Despite the defeat, she is proud of her performance during her fortnight at Wimbledon.

"I have no regrets. I gave it my all today (Saturday). I lost several finals at the start of my career. I took a step back and won one.

"I will continue to believe in myself and I know that I will win a Grand Slam one day."

Jabeur will return to Tunisia for a few days. She will then return to North America for the start of the hard court season.

“I will possibly participate in the San Jose tournament. I need a few points. I'm confident in my game. I'm looking forward to the US Open. It will be amazing and I am positive about my chances.”
