MADRID, 10 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Telefónica, through its global business unit Telefónica Global Solutions (TGS), has become an authorized global partner of Starlink, a company belonging to SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk, who is also CEO of Tesla and owner of Twitter, according to informed the company in a statement.

Specifically, Starlink has a constellation of highly advanced Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites that provide high-speed, low-latency broadband Internet around the world, even in the most rural and remote locations.

With this agreement, Telefónica Global Solutions will be able to complement its current offer by integrating Starlink's business solutions (fixed or mobile) into its global portfolio.

For its part, Starlink launched its solutions for companies at the beginning of 2023, with improved features and focused on this type of customer, with the possibility of being marketed through authorized distributors, such as Telefónica Global Solutions.

As detailed by Telefónica Global Solutions, the main characteristics of the service for companies are, among them, offering high-speed, low-latency broadband Internet that allows new use cases that historically have not been possible with satellite Internet.

Likewise, it allows the use of a dedicated terminal with greater range and performance, which translates into greater availability in adverse weather conditions and higher speeds, up to 300-350 Mbps download.

It also has the availability of a special terminal capable of working in vehicle mobility and data service for companies.

The operation is already underway in Mexico and will be gradually extended to other countries throughout the year, starting with Peru, Colombia, Chile, Brazil and Spain (Europe).

The CEO of Telefónica Global Solutions, Julio Beamonte, explained that the company has been offering value-added satellite solutions for many years and, with this alliance, begins to work "hand in hand" with Starlink Empresas to offer next-generation solutions to Your clients.
