MADRID, 26 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (CCB), together with the World Chambers of Commerce Federation (WCF) --of which Nicolás Uribe is president-- will hold between February 27 and 1 March the event 'Business opportunities with the regions of the world' which will seek to give a boost to the internationalization of small and medium-sized companies.

This summit will have representatives of the private sector from 27 countries in the Americas, Europe, Africa or the Middle East, through their Chambers of Commerce, as well as some business delegations, as in the case of Romania. For the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, it is an "opportunity" to put Colombia on the investment radar of countries that, at first glance, are very far from Latin America, such as Iran, Uganda, Cameroon or Nigeria, being all of them participants in the meeting.

"Latin America has for the first time the opportunity to lead the World Federation of Chambers of Commerce and our objective is to serve as a transmission belt for businessmen in their internationalization and development strategy", highlighted Nicolás Uribe during a meeting with journalists.

For her part, the Vice President of International Relations and Cooperation of the Chamber, María Mónica Conde, has focused on those sectors in which they seek to serve as a link to Colombian companies for their internationalization, such as pharmaceuticals or agriculture. In addition, in this meeting she will look for the "niche markets" that have a lot of demand and little production, which will be "priority" during these days.

The event to be held in Bogotá will be articulated around four thematic axes, these being access to markets, digitization, sustainability and female empowerment.

In the words of the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá, Colombia will be presented to the rest of the countries as a destination that has legal guarantees and those of a rule of law with the aim of being "a country of reference" for businessmen to Open to the South American continent.

"We see the adverse geopolitical context as an opportunity to diversify value chains and do new business. During this week we will promote Colombia and the city of Bogotá as an investment destination," he emphasized.

In this exchange of experiences between chambers, the Spanish Chamber of Commerce will also be present, through its general secretary. For Nicolás Uribe, Spain is a "strategic partner" that plays a "promoting" role when it comes to strengthening relations between Europe and Latin America.

In this sense, the president of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce recalled that Spain is one of the five main markets for Colombia and hopes to take advantage of the "enormous opportunity" that the Spanish presidency of the Council of the European Union will bring in the second semester to "advance" in bilateral trade.
