The Boston Celtics reached the NBA Finals by beating the Miami Heat 100-96 in the seventh and final game of the final Eastern Conference series on Sunday night.

For the final meeting of the 2021-2022 season, the Massachusetts team will face the Golden State Warriors.

The Celtics benefited from a fine performance from Jayson Tatum to defeat the Heat. He had 26 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart were not left out with harvests of 24 points each. Al Horford also made his presence felt with 14 rebounds.

In the Heat camp, Jimmy Butler led the charge with 35 points and nine rebounds.

The Celtics will be in their 22nd NBA Finals in history. This is a first appearance in the ultimate series since 2010. At the time, Boston had lost the flag in seven games against the Los Angeles Lakers. Two years earlier, the Celtics had won top honors at the expense of the Californian club.
