The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in France stood at 4.5% year-on-year in June, compared to 5.1% the previous month, which represents the smallest rise in prices in the French country since March 2022, as reported by the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Insee).

In the case of the harmonized inflation index, used by Eurostat in its statistics, the data for June stood at 5.3% in June, seven tenths below the rise in prices in May.

The slowdown in the rise in prices in France reflects the 3% drop in the cost of energy, compared to the 2% rise in May, while fresh food became more expensive by 11.1%, four tenths more than The last month.

This Thursday, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) of Germany announced that the CPI of the largest European economy stood at 6.4% in the month of June, which represents a rise of three tenths above the figure for May, while the harmonized data rebounded to 6.8%.

On the other hand, in Spain the year-on-year inflation rate moderated in June to 1.9%, its lowest level since March 2021, while the harmonized data has fallen to 1.6%.
