The Ibex 35 accelerated in the last hours of the trading day to close with an advance of 1.49%, which has pushed it to the gates of 7,800 points.

Although the selective lost steam in the mid-session, after the bullish opening on Wall Street it has extended its gains to 7,794.9 points.

This Tuesday the IFO index was published, which shows a new drop in the confidence of German businessmen and has stood at 84.3 points, from 84.4 points last month, reaching its lowest value since May 2020. However, it should be noted that this level is higher than expected by investors, who estimated a drop to 83.5 points, according to analysts at Renta 4.

Likewise, consumer confidence in the United States fell in October more than expected due to high inflation and the tightening of financing conditions.

Regarding the energy crisis, the European Commission has proposed that the model of the Iberian exception that allows Spain and Portugal to put a ceiling on the price of gas used to generate electricity be extended to the rest of the European Union with a cap of between 100 and 120 euros per MWh, a softer limit than the average of 60 euros of the Hispanic-Portuguese framework; a step with which he estimates a net benefit of 13,000 million euros for the block.

The rest of the European stock markets closed the session with gains of 1.94% in Paris, 0.94% in Frankfurt and 1.4% in Milan, while the London Stock Exchange lost a slight 0.01%.

The barrel of Brent quality oil, a reference for the Old Continent, stood at a price of 93.51 dollars this Tuesday, with an increase of 0.27%, while the Texas stood at 85.15 dollars, with a rise of 0.67%.

Finally, the price of the euro against the dollar stood at 0.9969 'greenbacks', while the Spanish risk premium stood at 108 basis points, with the interest required on the ten-year bond at 3.233%.
