The Ibex 35 reversed the trend at mid-session and registered a rise of 0.27% around 1:00 p.m., to stand at 9,436.8 points, after learning that the expansion of the euro zone was interrupted in the fourth quarter of 2022, when the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the region stagnated compared to the three previous months, when growth was 0.4%, according to the latest reading of the data published by Eurostat, which has cut its preliminary estimate by one tenth.

Thus, the Madrid selective, which began the session with a drop (-0.2%), recovered the psychological level of 9,400 points in a day in which the market will once again be pending a new appointment with the president of the United States Federal Reserve (Fed), Jerome Powell, who assured yesterday that the US central bank will speed up its interest rate hikes if inflation does not subside.

In the middle of the session, the biggest increases were registered by Endesa (2.74%), Amadeus (1.64%), Santander (1.62%) and Indra (1.22%), while on the opposite side were Grifols (-1.56%), Colonial (-1.39%), Meliá Hotels (-1.37%) and Fluidra (-1.17%).

The rest of the European stock markets were trading positive with increases of 0.2% for Frankfurt, while Paris and London fell 0.1%.

Likewise, the price of a barrel of Brent quality oil, a reference for the Old Continent, stood at 83 dollars, with a decrease of 0.1%, while Texas was trading at 77 dollars, 0.3% less.

In the foreign exchange market, the value of the euro against the dollar stood at 1.0537 'green bills', while the Spanish risk premium stood at 102 basis points, with the interest required on the ten-year bond at 3, 7%.
