The Ibex 35 starts the week with a fall of 0.3% and says goodbye to 9,400 points

The Ibex 35 has started the session this Monday with a drop of 0.30%, which has led the selective to lose the level of 9,400 points after closing on Friday at 9,415 integers.

Specifically, the Madrid parquet stood at 9,389 points at the start of a week full of business results and important macro data.

In Spain, the results season, which started last Thursday with Bankinter, will continue this week with the accounts of BBVA, Santander, Iberdrola, Repsol, Enagás, Aena and Redeia, among other large companies.

This Monday, before the opening of the market, the results of FCC were announced, which obtained an attributable net profit of 96.9 million euros in the first quarter of the year, a figure 13.9% higher than that of the same period of 2022.

This week there will also be several shareholders' meetings, such as those of Endesa and Iberdrola. The latter plans to address the re-election of Ignacio Sánchez Galan as president until 2027.

In the macro sphere, between next Thursday and Friday the unemployment data from the Active Population Survey (EPA) and the GDP for the first quarter of the year will be published in Spain, at the same time that the advance CPI for the month of April will be known .

In addition, the Spanish Government will send this week to Brussels the 2023-2026 Stability Program that will include the medium-term fiscal scenario and the update of the macroeconomic picture, in a context of high international uncertainty due to the impact of the war in Ukraine and the recent financial turmoil.

Outside of Spain, next week will also be marked by the publication of business results, such as those of Coca-Cola, which will be released today, and also by macro data such as the GDP for the first quarter of the United States and Germany.

While waiting for the meetings of the central banks in the first days of May, investors will be waiting today for the intervention of Fabio Panetta, member of the ECB, in the Commission of Economic and Monetary Affairs of the European Parliament. In addition, this Monday the IFO business confidence index in Germany will be released.

At the opening of the Stock Market this Monday and within the Ibex 35, the biggest increases were recorded by Aena (0.42%), Bankinter (0.36%) and Ferrovial (0.27%).

Among the values ​​that have turned negative are Endesa (-1.60%), Repsol (-1.48%), BBVA (-0.99%), Sabadell (-0.97%) and CaixaBank, which fell 0.70%.

Like Madrid, the main European stock markets opened this Monday with decreases: Milan fell 1.3%, while Paris and London lost 0.4%. Frankfurt was the one that fell the least, with a decline of almost two tenths.

At the opening of the stock market, the price of a barrel of Brent quality oil, a reference for the Old Continent, fell 1.3%, to 80.41 dollars, while Texas stood at 76.82 dollars, a 1.3% less.

In the currency market, the price of the euro against the dollar stood at 1.0974 'green bills', while in the debt market, the interest required on the 10-year Spanish bond fell to 3.487%.
