The Mazda CX-60, DS7 and the Volkswagen ID.Buzz models have been the winners of the fourteenth edition of the ADL Ecomotion Tour, in which for the first time all the participating vehicles have been electrified and have low emissions, thus creating three award categories, according to the company in a statement.
In the HEV-MHEV (Mild Hybrid) category, the winning model was the Mazda CX-60, achieving a consumption reduction of 35.01% compared to the manufacturer's data.
For its part, in the PHEV Plug-in Hybrid category, the winner was the model of the automobile firm DS with the DS7, with a consumption of 4.02 liters of fuel and 3.99 kilowatt hours (kWh) of electrical energy per every 100 kilometers. Both cars were driven by a representative of the brand accompanied by a journalist each.
In addition, in the 100% electric BEV category, the winner was the Volkswagen ID.Buzz model, after achieving a 27.79% decrease in vehicle consumption compared to the figure approved by the manufacturer. The team, made up of two journalists, have also been winners of the regularity section.
ALD indicated that this competition has received the sustainable qualification for the first time, after verification of compliance with various SDGs during the test. "The organization has focused its efforts so that both organizers and participants produce the least possible impact on their actions," they have pointed out from the company.
The test, carried out between Zaragoza and Huesca on June 15 and 16, has had a total of 20 brands and 25 vehicles competing for about 275 kilometres.
Thus, the automobile companies that participated this year were Volkswagen, with three vehicles, Kia, Skoda and Renault, with two vehicles each, and Ford, Cupra, Nissan, Toyota, Mazda, Volvo, MG, Audi, Polestar and the Stellantis Group. , which includes Peugeot, Opel, DS, Citroën, Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Jeep, with one car each in competition.
The general director of ALD Automotive, Pedro Malla, affirmed that this edition "will go down in history" because, in addition to obtaining the sustainable qualification, it is the first time that all vehicles are electrified and have low emissions. "Which translates into an indisputable sample of our commitment to ecomobility", he pointed out.
"Opting for a committed attitude behind the wheel, in addition to increasing road safety for all drivers, reduces the impact of the ecological footprint, which also allows us to meet the objectives established in the Move 2025 Plan and with the SDGs of the 2030 Agenda set by the UN", added Malla in reference to the importance of conducting efficient and responsible driving.
