The natural gas offers from the trading companies in December are at least twice as expensive as the TUR

MADRID, 5 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The offers of the main natural gas marketers in the free market at the beginning of this month of December doubled at least those of users with the rate of last resort (TUR), regulated by the Government, according to data from Facua-Consumidores en Acción .

Specifically, the association highlighted that, although half of the large natural gas marketers have lowered the price of the kilowatt hour (kWh) with respect to the study carried out two months ago, their rates "continue to be extremely inflated" compared to the TUR.

In this way, the offers of the six companies analyzed imply paying between 112 and 165% more for the energy consumed than with the regulated rate.

By companies, Facua indicated that, despite the fact that the kWh price has dropped by 23%, Repsol is once again the company with the most expensive offers. A user with a consumption of 9,600 kWh per year (800 per month) pays a monthly bill of 156.65 euros with this marketer. This amount represents more than double the 62.95 euros to which your bill would be reduced if you had the regulated rate corresponding to households with consumption between 5,000 and 15,000 kWh per year.

The association's analysis also includes the offers from Endesa, Naturgy, Iberdrola, Repsol, CHC Energía and TotalEnergies, analyzed on December 2, and compares them with the TURs in force since October 1.

In natural gas, three different rates are offered, depending on whether the user consumes less than 5,000 kWh per year, between that amount and 15,000 kWh or a higher figure. Facua has made the comparison taking the first two profiles as a reference, starting from a user who consumes 400 kWh or 800 kWh per month.

Thus, the consumer association recommends TUR rates, for which it is necessary to go to one of the four reference or last-resort marketers -Naturgy, Endesa, Iberdrola and TotalEnergies-, which belong to the same business groups as the large companies. of the free market.

According to Facua estimates, with the TUR a user who consumes 400 kWh per month currently pays 32.96 euros per month. In the free market, that user's bill can skyrocket to 77.04 euros, 134% more, if they have contracted the Repsol rate. After this company, the most expensive with the aforementioned consumption profile are TotalEnergies (75.33 euros) and Iberdrola (74.70 euros).

For a user profile with a consumption of 800 kWh per month, with the corresponding TUR - which applies to consumption between 5,000 and 15,000 kWh per year - they pay a monthly bill of 62.95 euros.

In the free market, the same user can pay up to 156.65 euros, 148% more, if they have Repsol's offer. After her, the most expensive for this consumption profile are Iberdrola (152.79 euros) and TotalEnergies (147.75 euros).

The lowest offers on the free market are those of CHC Energía and Naturgy, although they give rise to bills that are 112% more expensive in the best of cases than TURs.

Likewise, when reviewing the rates per kWh for users who consume less than 5,000 kWh per year, the highest are those of Repsol (17.56 cents), TotalEnergies (17.49) and Iberdrola (17.21).

The differences reach 154% with respect to the 6.92 cents per kWh in force since October 1 with the TUR. The company with the least expensive kWh, CHC Energía, charges it at 15.04 cents, 117% more expensive than with the TUR.

In the case of users who consume between 5,000 and 15,000 kWh per year, the most expensive rates per kWh are once again those of Repsol (17.56 cents), Iberdrola (17.63) and TotalEnergies (17.18). Up to 166% above the 6.62 cents/kWh currently paid with the TUR.

In the case of the company with the lowest kWh price on the free market, also CHC Energía (14.04 cents), its price is 112% above that established in the TUR for this consumption profile.

Regarding the fixed rate applied by the companies. With the TUR rate for consumption of less than 5,000 kWh per year, it amounts to 5.28 euros per month, while for those above and up to 15,000 kWh it rises to 10.00 euros per month.

In the case of the first user profile, the most expensive fixed rates are those of Repsol (6.80 euros) and CHC Energía (6.65 euros). For those who consume more than 5,000 kWh per year, the most expensive are Repsol (16.17 euros) and CHC Energía (11.98 euros).
