The cutest Boston terrier, badly injured after being cowardly stabbed several times by his former owner, finally found love in the arms of the police officer who rescued him and who decided to adopt him .

On May 17, officers from the Service de police de la Ville de Québec (SPVQ) intervened very early in the morning in the borough of La Cité-Limoilou, after receiving a call from a lady "saying that she had killed something". , explains the spokesperson for the SPVQ Marie-Pier Rivard.

At the scene, officers found Zoe, a 9-year-old female Boston terrier, "in agony" in the woman's apartment.

The dog bore numerous traces of wounds on her small body. “She was really pitiful. The officers thought she would not survive, ”says Ms. Rivard.

Transported to the Daubigny Veterinary Center, little Zoé was treated and transferred to the Quebec SPA a few hours later.

“We found that she was in a state of shock and that she was hypothermic,” says the general manager of the SPA de Québec, Félix Tremblay, adding that they had to bring the animal back to the veterinary center, because they feared she was suffering from internal bleeding.

“For us, I think this is a first. We had never had to treat a dog that had been stabbed,” recalled Mr. Tremblay.

A new family

Quickly, Zoe got better. More so, her wounds hadn't had time to heal that she already had a new loving family.

"One of the officers who took charge of the animal wanted to take her under his wing," said Marie-Pier Rivard.

The agent in question, however, declined the Journal's interview request, preferring to remain in the shadows.

"What I understand is that the agent was touched by Zoe's story. [...] I can understand that someone who is involved in this episode, who arrives at the scene where there is an animal that has been stabbed and is bleeding, I think that anyone who has the heart in the right place would have had a similar reaction,” says Mr. Tremblay.

"It's no exaggeration to say that the police officer who took care of him saved his life," he adds, delighted to see that this story had a happy ending.

they took care of it

“Affectionate” and not refusing hugs, little Zoé won the hearts of the employees of the SPA de Québec, who spared no effort to help her get back on her feet.

“She came for a health check on Tuesday. When the receptionist announced her arrival at the veterinarian, all the employees rushed to come see her. »
