Barely returned from New Orleans, Karine Locas, 43, is already organizing her future travels: a road trip on the sensational Icefields Promenade in Western Canada in June, then the island of Madeira from autumn. Obviously, for her, it's now or never to go around the world.

For this great adventurer who usually flies abroad three to four times a year, the need, even the urgency, to see the country is very real.

“After the cancellation of many trips, whether Greece in the summer of 2020 or more recently, Paris-Prague-Malta in December 2021, I could not imagine that I would have to give it up for a long time. Because beyond the holidays, I especially need to travel, my way of keeping the balance between the stress of everyday life, family life and then work”, confides Karine.

It was because of her pragmatic side that she chose NOLA as her first post-pandemic destination.

“As soon as the borders opened, my friend Alexandre and I were looking for an accessible, easy and not too far away place in the event of repatriation. Louisiana turned out to be the best option,” she explains. The two accomplices, adequately vaccinated, then crisscrossed Louisiana from New Orleans to Lafayette, in safety, with peace of mind and full heart.

Whether alone, with family or as a couple, Karine is driven not only by this passion, but even more by the well-being it brings her.

“In addition to the change of scenery, the desire to get out of my comfort zone or to taste unique experiences, travel gives me a strong feeling of living fully,” she says. Just as it stimulates my brain! As soon as I arrive at the airport, my state of mind changes and then my instinct sharpens as my landmarks fall. It is for these reasons and the many others that it was vital that I set out again on the adventure”, adds Karine.

Now, the time has come to deconfine this passion which has always pushed it elsewhere, for which there was New Orleans, that there will be Madeira soon and the Canadian Rockies in a few days. On the road between Banff and Jasper, Karine, accompanied by her son Félix, will be able to say that she finally has her revenge... and that she has only just begun!
