The Sûreté du Québec launches a new site for unresolved cases

A new website listing unresolved Sûreté du Québec (SQ) files was launched on Tuesday, nearly 11 years after the last version.

This new version will make it possible to collect continuous information concerning unresolved cases on Quebec territory. It is thus better adapted to new technologies.

New features include a search engine, responsive mode for smartphones and tablets, and larger photos.

“The launch of this new site allows us to receive essential information from the public. Each information is treated seriously by our team and we do a meticulous job,” said Lieutenant Martin Desgagné, head of the Disappearances and Unresolved Cases Division.

The SQ recalled that “even after decades, the slightest information from the public can allow investigators to have new leads, or even lead to a positive outcome”.

“Our team is active and visible; we meet families, witnesses and suspects, in particular. Most of the work consists of resuming investigations and starting on new bases to hope for a positive outcome, ”added Lieutenant Desgagné.
