Singer Jeanick Fournier, cyclist Hugo Houle and vice-president of communications for the Montreal Canadiens, Chantal Machabée, shine among the 10 personalities of the year 2022.
Hosted by Isabelle Racicot, the program Les dix de 2022 highlighted a dozen Quebec personalities known, or less known to the general public, who have in common to have been, during the year, actors of change in their field, and who have distinguished themselves by their vision, their commitment and their achievements.
With communication strategist Martine St-Victor and sociologist Jean-Philippe Pleau, the program presented on Tuesday evening on ICI Télé looked back on this remarkable year experienced by the 10 personalities selected, from Jeanick Fournier, who started the year in anonymity and which concluded it in the public eye after his victory at Canada's got talent, to Pierre Bruneau, who was an anchor for more than 40 years.
Businessman Mark Pathy, who in April became the 13th Canadian to go into space to research chronic pain and sleep disorders with the AX-1 mission, and young trackers, a group of five young people aged 9 to 12 who initiated and carried out a research project on the repercussions of cancer, also entered the ranking.
MP Véronique Hivon, who left the political world after 14 years of commitment and who contributed to the law on end-of-life care – an obstacle course for her – as well as the creation of specialized courts for victims of sexual or domestic violence has also seen his work praised.
Artist Manuel Mathieu, Abenaki judge Michelle O’Bonsawin from the Odanak community, and journalists and foreign correspondents Tamara Alteresco and Marie-Ève Bédard also found themselves in Les dix de 2022.
