The VII World Summit of Travel Agencies starts today in Granada with almost 200 professionals from the sector

The VII World Summit of Travel Agency Associations, organized by the Spanish Confederation of Travel Agencies (CEAV), starts this Wednesday for three days in Granada with almost 200 professionals from the sector from the five continents.

The opening ceremony will take place at the La Chumbera Municipal Auditorium and will be attended by the mayor of Granada, María Francisca Carazo; the president of the Granada Provincial Council, Francisco Rodríguez; and the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Government of Andalusia, Víctor Manuel González; as well as the president of CEAV, Carlos Garrido.

During these days of the forum, various presentations and debates will be held with the aim of continuing to be "the forum for the global exchange of experiences in which there is dialogue and debate, at a global level, on the fundamental aspects of the sector", according to the first executive vice president of CEAV, José Manual Lastra.

In this sense, the topics to be discussed at this summit will focus on sustainability, new trends and consumer habits, the sector's relationship with suppliers such as airlines, innovation and technology around travel (AI, security and legislation).

In addition, there will be a program of visits to the most emblematic places in the capital and the province of Granada. Thus, this event will be an opportunity for attendees to discover "one of the tourist destinations in Spain."

The summit, which has the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Junta de Andalucía, the Granada City Council, the Tourist Board of the Provincial Council of Granada and the regular collaborators of CEAV (Amadeus, Aon, Iberia, Iberia Cards, Pipeline, Renfe and Turespaña), will turn the city into the focus of attention of travel agencies and the top representatives of the sector.

For its organization, in addition, the employers' association has the Association of Tourism Mediation Companies of Granada, the Andalusian Federation of Travel Agencies and the Provincial Federation of Hospitality and Tourism Companies of Granada.

Furthermore, the presence of important industry leaders such as the vice president of the World Alliance of Travel Agents Associations (WTAAA), Paula Cortés, is confirmed at the event; the president of the European Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (ECTAA), Fran Oostdam; Amadeus SVP Customer Success Management EMEA, Christian Boutin; e Iberia Chief Commercial, Network

Thus, some of the countries that will be present at the world event will be South Africa, Angola, Egypt and Kenya on the African side, while Europe will be represented by Germany, the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Estonia, Italy, Ireland and Greece.

In addition, Canada, Uruguay, Chile, Mexico, Venezuela will represent America, as well as Australia, Indonesia, Korea and India, which will be part of the two remaining continents.
