An octogenarian rests between life and death after making a perilous U-turn and colliding with two vehicles in Saint-Christophe-d'Arthabaska, in the Center-du-Quebec, early Thursday evening.

The accident took place around 4:40 p.m. on Route 116. According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the older driver, parked westbound, decided to make a U-turn and found himself in the opposite direction on the east way. He hit a heavy truck first, then a second vehicle.

The driver of the offending vehicle was transported to a hospital, where he is in critical condition. The occupants of the other two vehicles were not injured.
