Information from the public has enabled the police to seize two firearms and several narcotics in the past few days in the northeast of the metropolis.

The most recent operation took place Thursday in the Pointe-aux-Trembles area when police carried out a search during which a weapon and a magazine were seized.

A suspect was also arrested at the scene.

The day before, the police intervened in a place which served as a point of sale of narcotics in the Saint-Michel district.

At the scene, the police arrested four individuals, in addition to seizing a firearm, 67 grams of cocaine, 35 grams of crack, 1333 tablets of amphetamine, 875 tablets of ecstasy, 1.5 liters of GHB (drug rape), 2.27 kg of cannabis and nearly $20,000 in cash.

These two police strikes are said to be linked to “events of armed violence” that recently took place in the northeast of the city.
