Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid underwent two surgeries on Monday, including one on his right thumb, but that shouldn't stop him from starting training camp on time.

The team confirmed the news to The Athletic website. In addition, the 28-year-old pivot was also treated for a left index finger problem.

Embiid had a rocky first-round series against the Toronto Raptors despite his team's victory, which later lost in the Eastern Conference Semifinals to the Miami Heat. In game three, he was hit in the thumb and also suffered an orbital fracture as well as a mild concussion in game six.

In the playoffs, he averaged 23.6 points and 10.7 rebounds per outing. During the regular season, Embiid had amassed 30.6 points and averaged 11.7 points.
