Uber, Moovit, Cabify, Renfe and Bolt, the most used transport apps in Spain in the last six months

MADRID, 28 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Uber, Moovit, Cabify, Renfe Cercanías and Bolt were the most used mobility applications in Spain in the last six months, according to the 'Urban Mobility Observatory' carried out by Smartme Analytics.

The same study also shows that 40% of the Spanish digital population has used a mobility app during this same period, whether it is hiring Taxi/VTC services, carsharing or motorcycle sharing, micromobility, public transport or parking.

By age, Moovit stands out, the app for organizing public transport trips, with 21.6% of the market share among users between 18 and 24 years of age. On the other hand, in the more adult profiles (between 35 and 54) applications for parking such as Telepark or El Parking began to appear.

Last July, the Government presented the free pass for commuter trains, a bonus that could be purchased through the Renfe Cercanías app. Since then, the application has managed to position itself as the fourth most used app in the mobility sector, with a share of 8% of the Spanish digital population.

When taking a taxi or VTC vehicle, the applications preferred by citizens were Uber (53.1% share of the subsector) and Cabify (45.7% share of the subsector), although their use decreased slightly compared to early 2022 by 3% and 11.8%, respectively. They were followed in the ranking by Bolt (25%), FreeNow (26.3%) and Pide Taxi (5.1%).

Among users who prefer car sharing, the favorites were Ubeequo, with a 28.3% share of users in the subsector, and ZITY, with 26.1%, followed by Free2Move (23.9%), GoTo (23.9%) and Wivle (14.4%). In general, the majority lost user share compared to the first quarter of 2022, with Free2Moove being the most affected with a 31.1% drop.

For its part, for users who prefer motorcycles, it led eCooltra, which achieved a share of users in the subsector of 47.5% and managed to overtake Acciona, thanks to an increase in users within the subsector of 38.9%.
