With temperatures approaching 30°C with Humidex between 34 and 39 for the days of Saturday and Sunday, Montrealers will have to hydrate and stay cool to face the impressive heat wave overlooking the metropolis.

“Drink plenty of water, even before you feel thirsty, and stay cool. Reduce your heat risks. Organize your outdoor activities during the coolest hours of the day,” Environment Canada said in a public warning.

The nights will also be uncomfortable with temperatures around 20°C, the federal agency said.

Environment Canada has also issued severe thunderstorm watches for several regions of the province, such as Montreal, Quebec and Sherbrooke.
