Grace Community Church in Wesley Chapel invites new and seasoned believers to dig into Christianity.

The church, which meets at Wesley Chapel Elementary School, 30423 Wells Road, will offer a seven-week course, Christianity Explored, beginning Feb. 19 and ending April 2.

Participants will study the faith's key principles in a casual and conversational setting.

"People can chat, ask questions and learn together," said Grace Community pastor Jeff Olsen.

Olsen, who founded the church in 2006, said he wants to see new faces.

About 70 people currently attend Sunday services, mostly families with children.

In 2014, the church purchased 20 acres on Boyette Road. There, it plans to build a 7,760-square-foot multipurpose building. Site preparation was completed earlier this year. Fundraising to begin construction is currently under way.

Olsen said he chose Wesley Chapel to open Grace Community because the area continues to develop. He and his wife, Heather, grew up in New Port Richey. They married in 1998 and have four daughters, the youngest in sixth grade.

Olsen ministered at a church in Minnesota for five years before returning to Florida to start his own. He saw the potential to reach non-church goers in central Pasco.

"New housing and new schools offer the opportunity for new churches to be established to, by God's grace, build an even better community," he said.

Christianity Explored will give first-time guests the opportunity get to know the people of Grace Community Church, he said.

All teens and adults, from lifelong Christians to skeptics, are welcome to attend the free course. All backgrounds and beliefs will be respected, Olsen said. The church will provide child care for children ages birth to fifth grade.

Each session will begin with refreshments at 10:15 a.m., followed by music and video teaching by Rico Tice from All Soul's Church in London. Attendees will then split into groups to discuss the day's topic.

Regular Sunday services at Grace Community now begin at 9 a.m.
