A woman suffered minor injuries during a fire that broke out at a church Friday night in the city’s Lawndale neighborhood.

A fire was reported on second floor of Greater Gallilee Baptist Church located at 1308 S. Independence Boulevard shortly before 10 p.m., according to Chicago Fire Commander Curtis Hudson.

A 25-year-old woman was in stable condition after being treated for minor smoke inhalation at Mt. Sinai Medical Center, he said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No further details were immediately available.
