The masturbation gap between men and women in Canada notably fell from 60% to 40%, a “very positive” evolution according to Womanizer.

In Canada, men masturbate 147 times a year, a significantly higher number than women.

And, on the contrary, 23% of Canadian women surveyed revealed that they do not masturbate, compared to only 13% of men.

Sex education to review

For the purposes of the survey, more than 22,000 participants from 15 different countries were evaluated. Of those thousands of applicants, the majority responded that their sex education boiled down to “contraception, pregnancy and reproductive organs,” according to the study. Still, 31% of participants said they would like to learn more about different ways to have fun. In the same vein, one in five participants admitted to being curious about masturbation.

“Open dialogue about masturbation should be encouraged not only at school, but also at home,” read a statement.

Additionally, 20% of participants revealed that they learned about sex by watching pornography.

“These results show how important it is to raise awareness about female sexuality and desire. It's great to see that social change is happening and that we are empowered to contribute to it,” said WOW Tech Public Relations Manager Johanna Rief.
