The third vice president and acting Minister of Labor, Yolanda Díaz, has indicated that this new legislature, in which she aspires to re-edit the coalition government with the PSOE, must be marked by "years of salary improvements" and the "conquest of new rights".

It has been through the social network X, formerly known as Twitter, where the leader of Sumar has published this message on the occasion of a recent report that reveals that seven out of ten workers consider that their work is not sufficiently paid and only 1.72% say they receive too much for the work they do.

The report, prepared by Infoempleo and Adecco, also points out that 43.32% of unemployed professionals would reject a job offer despite their situation if the salary is insufficient. In fact, too low a salary is the number one reason for refusing a job. This is followed by a change of residence (28.13%), the type of contract offered (28.01%) or the duration of the day (26.51%).

Based on these data, Díaz has warned that "much remains to be done", although, yes, he has pointed out that during the last legislature it was possible to protect wages and advance rights with the labor reform. "This legislature must be years of salary improvements and the conquest of new rights," he added.

And it is that, for the acting vice president, salaries "are not to blame for inflation", but rather the "margins of large companies", as she said in another message on the social network after meeting, through a report from the Bank of Spain, that in 2022 the energy sector was one of those that increased final prices above costs.

For all these reasons, Yolanda Díaz considers that one of the priorities of a new coalition government must go through "protecting working people."
